This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Matthew Dentith is the world's foremost conspiracy theory theorist. In this funny yet thought-provoking talk, he explores our instinctive aversion to conspiracy theories and suggests that, sometimes, they may hold the truth.
Author of ‘The Philosophy of Conspiracy Theories’, Dr Matthew Dentith specialises in the analysis of conspiracy theories whilst also being a keen teacher of critical thinking skills. He also co-hosts ‘The Podcaster’s Guide to the Conspiracy’ and can be heard every Thursday morning at 8.15am for 10 minutes discussing conspiracy theories with Zac on 95bFM’s Breakfast Show.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
