LOUIS COLE TOUR
http://bit.ly/louis-cole-tour

Lyrics:
Evolution takes a break, green becomes the only race
Freedom fades so far away, and the grim reap don’t care How much you made
Yeah...
Money money
Makes you rich I guess
Money money
Turns a no into a yes
Money money
Won’t turn me into a bitch
Money money
I need enough to just do this
This:

No plan B and no pullout, I sound the same with or without ($)
I’ll give the truth, not sell it out, I don’t wanna even sing About
About…

Money money
I won’t let it mess me up
Money money
Some freedom is enough
Freedom to do this
And this
And this
This

(its a song about not selling out)

(I practiced this slap bass part every day for 4 months, and its the only thing I can play on bass as of right now)

I read some comments here. Want to say a couple thingies:
(most people get it, which is tight, BUT): This song isn’t me asking for money, and this song isn’t me saying that its bad to make money. In fact ever since I released the song “bank account” (when money was real low a lot) I’ve been living pretty comfortably. The point of the song is: my mission with music is not to make money, my mission is to make the best music I possibly can. And shittily, that is not the mission of a lot of music you have heard. A lot of music is money driven. And that $ mindset dilutes the absolute FUCK out of the realness and spirit of art. So I’m saying I want to keep the money separate from the art, and I really actually only need enough money to be able to live a life where I can create freely (food, shelter, instruments, no day job), that is TRULY the ultimate dream life as a die hard artist. And I just never ever ever ever wanna change anything about my music or art to try and make more money. Thats what its about. (Also the first verse talks about some other stuff like how money overall leads to struggle and dark stuff like that).

ALSO, just saw like 3-4 comments saying how it doesn’t look like I’m really playing the bass part. Well it doesn’t to me either. When I was lining up the video footage to the song, it looked like it was missing some notes or something. But check out the left index finger, its hammering all those in between funk notes. I have my own weird technique, which might look dumb, but it sounds searing hot on that bass line. I 100% played that bass part, and quantized 0% of that bass part. BUT I did record 56 takes to get it reeeeeeeal nice. thanks everyone.

Now that I think of it, I haven't seen Sam Wilkes in any videos recently. Did Louis eat him and absorb his powers without telling anyone?

Louis, there’s no dishonour in being paid for your art. You deserve your success, man.
