Found one like that mowing my yard! I also learned I can jump a 4 foot hedge when being chased by angry yellow jackets

There's certainly no nice way to kill another creature. But when my clients call me (in this case, my parents) they arent paying me to kill the nest for the heck of it, most people are terrified because they are too close to their house (like in this case).

Relocating colonies is something I do frequently when its feasible and realistic. Check out my QA video where I talk about the details of relocating and what all goes in to choosing a nest as a good candidate to relocate. https://youtu.be/an3jBeBuIHs

Feeding the nests to my girls is a way to complete the circle of life. When you have to destroy life as a profession, it's a waste to simply destroy it, but rather I feed the colony that would have just rotted and benefited no one to my chickens, which they enjoy and is super healthy for them.

It's hard being the one to decide who dies and who is relocated; and in some instances, I convince some clients to merely let the colonies be, since they arent a threat in their location. It talks me out of a job, but I rather preserve life when feasible to the safety of others.

When I called the folks from the University of Washington to come remove an enormous yellow jacket nest from under my eaves, they came out and used liquid nitrogen to freeze the nest and all of the yellow jackets inside of it. After they pulled the nest down, they broke it open and pulled all of the hornets out, which they then put into little sandwich size baggies and rolled them up. I asked them why they were doing this, as it seemed really bizarre! They told me they were going to use them for a serum for people that were allergic to yellow jacket stings! --- So, I'm curioius, do you ever do anything like that?

*Side note: The UW folks told me that most state universities have a dept. people can call for safe removal of large nests, if people can't get a hold of someone like you.

Bret, don't worry about the production value!! We love the real nature of your videos. You do you, and remember that you gained viewers and subscribers because of YOU, not your production value!!

When my daughter and son moved a piece of sheet metal in our backyard just so happened to be a hornet's nest 6" thick by 18" diameter
And the chase was on they ran across the road to the park and the Hornets were in hot pursuit.
They ran all the way around the tennis courts ripping there clothes off.
My son had Hornets up his pant legs and and down his shirt
.and my daughter has long dark brown hair full of Hornets
They were down to there undies
When they came through the front door. With red spots everywhere
My daughter got stung all over her head

Considering that wildlife YouTube videos are generally like, "oh dude..." and then it's like a shaky camera chasing a snake through a wooded area, I'd say your video is AWESOME!

I Love these videos and never even noticed the backdrop in the "PRODUCTION ROOM" and as far as the quality of the videos is concerned it's already with the best YouTube has to offer. Very clear on my end. You speak clearly and to the point. Thank You for sharing !!!
