Cool Forgotten Weapons merch!

With the Morphy's fall 2019 auction now complete, it's time to take a look at what the market says guns are worth. This time, it's mostly submachine guns - with an interesting mix of transferrable and pre-samples.

This was an awesome auction, but prices definitely went higher than I would have liked, however I still felt like I got solid deals! My two NFA's didn't make Ian's list of final prices. However, I ended up with two fully transferable machine guns - The American 180 (First Batch #12/24) for $9500 and a bare Sten receiver for $6500. Like Ian said, the floor was really around $6500 for anything fully transferable. Unfortunately a few got away - I was almost able to snag an FN FNC, but got outbid, and I should have probably stuck it out on a Valmet or an AR that went sub $15K, I definitely missed out on an excellent opportunity for a 1919A4.

Deer gun, from $3.95 in 1964 to $4613 in 2019.
Pretty good investment, if you ask me ;-)
MP40 from 60 Reichsmark in '45 to $100k isn't bad either.

The Bernardelli was not Transferable. This is the same one that sold at RIA (or Julia, I can't remember) a couple years ago as a dealer sample. I actually called Morphy to have them check on it and they amended the description to remove its "Transferrable" status.

8:17 Terrible that the US Navy were stuck using these as late in 1908 as you said there Ian. Could have had Brownings instead of flinklocks!

Joking, I know it was a slip up and got it right second time.
