Why not buy the gold quarters? The silver dimes and 1oz rounds are nice to have and easy to carry. Good to know that you can sell to APMEX, haven't heard of anyone doing that before. Nicely done video!

I use eBay and I've gotten silver coins for UNDER spot

Getting under spot for silver or gold eagles when selling? I usually pay $2.59 over spot for a silver eagle, but the ( (LCS) paid me $1.41 over spot when selling back. Spot + $15.00 for 1oz gold Eagles. I have found that eagles are the best & easiest government minted coins to buy/sell. Higher premium when buying, higher buyback price when selling.
MCM, APMEX, Provident, Etc. buys metals, but like you mentioned it's better to deal in cash with no paper trail IMO. Good vid. Thanks for sharing your experiences & thoughts!  Cheers

Unfortunatly, my LCS currently charges over $20 out the door for and ASE while I could order them from JM Bullion for just over $18 each!! And I would imagine that he also low-balls the buy back prices. So Ive had to strictly buy and sell from online dealers only. I cant imagine how that LCS stays in business.

Great video. I'm doing research in to investment now and I'm interested in purchasing silver. I'll likely go with one of the big online dealers like you suggested. my questions are 1) is it better for apmex to keep the silver stored for you so that it is safe and so that it can be sold back to them easily and quickly. 2) What if the price of silver shoots up 2 years from now, will they buy it back quickly? As this is an investment for me I'd like to sell it at the peak price which means finding buyers and selling quickly. let me know what you think and thanks for the video :)

What do you think of OPM 1oz rounds? They're selling them now for 75 cents over spot.

Coin shows are great too for both buying and selling. You have hundreds of dealers to go to and they circulate through all major cities and you can build relationships with them and get good deals. I have found that you can will and deal with them- haggle over the price to a degree and leave a happy camper when it's all set and done. Plus there is no tax (depending on what state) and no shipping, maybe factor in transportation if you don't leave near a major city but do it in conjuction w/a trip

I have done tons of research on this. Yes there are. If you go to Provident metals you can buy OPM rounds pretty close to spot and if you add one of their special premium coins to your order the shipping is free. You can save alot with free shipping. I also think gainesvillecoins is beter than apmex. But if you want variety I would shop APMEX. they have more to choose from. OH! and silvertowne has GREAT prices on their 1 oz bars. Free shipping too. hope this helps!

my experience selling silver; American Eagles go the fastest by far with individuals, 10oz bars a little slow, last to go is 90% Silver............. dealing with individuals that is.

1oz silver bars are just fine, as is pre 64 currency.

So you wouldn't recommend buying 1oz silver bars? And coins from Amex do you buy their coins or you still buy pre 1964 coins from there?

Apmex is the largest Precious metals dealer that I know of, so they are able to keep their prices pretty low. They are hard to beat. Sometimes you can get some stuff cheaper by buying directly from the seller, but APMEX's prices have always been good.

Nice work! just be careful with the security aspect of a transaction like that. It is a great way to cut out the superfluous costs of dealing with intermediaries. Good going.
